Veachel Lee Williams' Obituary
WILLIAMS, Veachel Lee, age 94, passed away January 11, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Birtie Williams, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Roxie Virginia Williams, daughter Linda (Pete) Bryant, brothers Delbert (Georgia) Williams and Robert (Linda) Williams, granddaughters Joni (Mike) Tressler and Laura McFadden and 4 great-granddaughters. Mr. Williams proudly served during WWII in Americal Division of the US Army. He worked for Commonwealth Life Insurance of Kentucky and had been a member, Deacon and song leader of Madison General Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a volunteer for Christian Cooperative Ministries and enjoyed spending time in his garden. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Cooperative Ministries, 201 Madison Street, Madison, TN 37115 or to Alive Hospice.
