Vernon Stinson's Obituary
Vernon Leonard Stinson age 91 passed away October 1, 2012. He was born in Williamson County, TN, the first child of Leonard and Annis Stinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 72 years, Anna Lorena; his sister, Alma; and his daughter, Janice. Mr. Stinson is survived by sister, Hazel Lucille Mangrum; son, Larry (Marcia) of Hendersonville; son-in-law, Joe Green of Dickson; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Stinson spent his early years in the Nashville and Franklin area, prior to joining the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939. During WWII he served in the United States Navy with the construction battalion on Guam. Mr. Stinson retired from John Deere & Co. where he worked in Nashville and Memphis for a total of 36 years. He was a member of the Mason’s (50 plus years), Shriner’s and Eastern Star. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
