Ms. Virgie Elaine Stanton Whittemore's Obituary
Virgie Elaine Stanton Whittemore age 83, passed away October 24, 2013. Preceded in death by her husbands Louie Woods, Clarence Stanton, and Walter Whittemore; her daughter Brenda Woods; brothers Thomas and Charlie Carmon. She is survived by her children; Betty Kyle, Louie (Janice) Woods, Carolyn Minchey, Ronnie (Pat) Woods, Marshall (Malia) Stanton, Rebecca (Ronnie) Gregory, and Leonard (Carol) Stanton; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and sister Robbie Perkins. Mrs. Whittemore retired from the Warrant Bond Office with Metro Government, assisted with the election committee, her neighborhood watch and loved playing bingo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Louie Woods, Ronnie Woods, Marshall Stanton, Leonard Stanton, Ronnie Gregory and Tony Rary. Visitation will be Friday 2:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101.
