Virginia Elizabeth Thompson's Obituary
Virginia Elizabeth Thompson, 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by husband, James “Snake” Thompson, three children, Maryann McKnight, Billy Sue Thompson and Rocky Thompson, a granddaughter, Danna Turner, and her parents, Katie Mai and William Walter Ray
Mrs. Thompson, also known as “Nanny”, is survived by two children, Deborah Turner, James “Tank” Thompson, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family members.
Nanny was known for cooking every Sunday for her family. She retired after 35+ years of working for the US Tobacco Company.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to visit on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from three o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at two o’clock in the afternoon with visiting two hours prior to the service. The committal will immediately follow.
