W. Jim Ferguson's Obituary
Willie James Ferguson, Jr. 76, (Affectionately known as Jim), was born on September 27, 1945 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the Son of the late Willie James Ferguson Senior and Cornnell Johnson Ferguson. He passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2022 at Nashville Veterans Hospital.
Jim graduated from Saint Edward Catholic School in Cleveland, Ohio and served as an alter boy. After graduation, he served 30 years in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired M.G.Y.S.G.T. He spent 11 years at the White House under the Reagan Administration and 3 tours in Vietnam. Jim was a loyal member of the VFW Post No. 6993 of Goodlettsville, TN as Commander, AMVETS Post No. 1776 iof Nashville, TN as 1st Vice Commander, AMVETS Department of TN as Judge Advocate, AMVETS District 6 as Judge Advocate, VVA-Chapter 1140 of Franklin, TN as CoFounder, Davidson County Veterans Planning Commission, TN Veterans (TNVET) Legislation, El-Hasa Temple #28 as Honoray Past Potentate of Cleveland, Ohio, 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and Knights Templar of Masonic Lodge of Cleveland, Ohio.
Jim was preceded in death by his (Parents), Willie James Ferguson Senior and Cornnell Johnson Ferguson. His (Son) Donnell Ferguson, (Sister) Pauline Johnson and (Brother) William Ferguson.
He is survived by his Loving Wife of 11 years, Demetrius M. Ferguson; his Children, Reginald Ferguson (Richmond, KY), Darlene Collins and Michael Ferguson of (Baltimore, MD), Kimberly Ferguson (Laurel, MS); 2 Sisters Annie Johnson and Lurlene Wilson of (Cleveland, OH), Sister in law, Linda Ferguson; Mother in Law, Peggy McGill both of (Nashville, TN), Sister in Law, Barbara (Anthony) Patterson of (Murfreesboro, TN); Bonus Chilldren, Travione McCullum, Brandon (Jazelyn) Everett, Raven Everett, Bre’Asia Pierce all of Nashville, TN; 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great -Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
