Wanda Lou Wigart's Obituary
Wanda Lou Wigart was born in Pontiac, MI on July 1, 1934. She was one of four daughters born to Raymond and Inez Neighbors. Wanda’s sisters, Barbara, Evelyn, and Sandy were the greatest joy in her life - until she met her husband Richard Gale Wigart. The two high school sweethearts were married August 4, 1952 and moved to Fort Worth, TX where Richard worked in the Air Force as a mechanic. When Richard was deployed overseas during the Korean War, Wanda made several moves, but eventually the two were reunited in Florida where their first son was born at the Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Wanda worked as a secretary and a receptionist for several companies, but spent most of her early working career working for Flo Air. Wanda and Richard had four sons: Richard Michael, David William, Jeffrey Alan, and Gary Dean. After moving around between Wichita, KS and ‘the farm’ in Southern Illinois, the family finally settled in Smyrna, Tennessee in 1976 where Wanda worked as the Sunday School Secretary and in the Accounting Department at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene until 2000 when she retired to take care of her youngest granddaughter. The Lord blessed her with 6 beautiful grandchildren: Rachael (Justin), Chris (Tawnna), Bryce, Chelsea (Austin), Connor, and Erica. Wanda was the greatest mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend you could ask for. She is preceded in death by her older sister Barbara, and her brothers-in-law Mike Swartz, Tony Pabreza, Stan Gajewski, and George Harris. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Richard Wigart, her two sisters, Sandy and Evelyn, her 4 sons Michael (Darla), David (Sylvia), Jeff, and Gary, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren (Amelia, Brayson, Cailynn, Deacon, Griffon, Theo, and Beckett), and 7 nieces/nephews (Janet, Patricia, Dennis, Steve, Linda, Michael, and Jennifer).
The family would like to thank you for your prayers and condolences. We know Wanda is rejoicing with her Savior today - made whole and fully loved by her Heavenly Father.
