Wayland Mosley's Obituary
Wayland left us on October 3, 2025. He loved boating, camping, country music, Jimmy Buffett and his beloved pets, but most of all he loved his two daughters, Lena and Ashley. He loved serving as a Nashville Metro Police Officer from 1986 to 1997, when he was injured while on duty. His zest for life, sense of adventure and wonderful sense of humor was contagious and has left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Wayland is now reunited with his son, Wayland Bruce, Jr, his parents, James and Jean Mosley, sister, Dottie Wayman, brothers, Randy and Gary Mosley, sister in law, Linda Clements, brother in law, Don Moss, and other family members.
Still here to carry on his laughter and love of family are the people who mattered most. His daughters, Lena and husband, Brian Weist and Ashley and husband, Will Thrower, their mother, Brenda Mosley, grandchildren, who were his greatest delight and gave him joy, Ella Grace and Max Weist, and Avery and Caden Thrower, sister in law, Kathy Moss, brother in law, Steve Clements, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 13, 2025 from 12-1pm, followed by a grave side service starting at 1 pm at Springhill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
Flowers are welcome, or if so desired, you can make a memorial contribution to any of the local animal shelters.
