Wayne Miller Camp's Obituary
Wayne Miller Camp was born on September 11, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee. Raised from humble beginnings, Wayne grew up alongside his brother, learning the value of hard work and developing a deep connection to all things Nashville. Those early lessons helped shape the strong work ethic and sense of responsibility that would define his life.
As a young man, Wayne proudly served his country by joining the National Guard. He worked as an airframe specialist, maintaining light-wing aircraft and helicopters. His service spanned six years, including two years in the reserves. Wayne took great pride in his military service, and his time in the National Guard further strengthened his skills, discipline, and commitment to others.
Following his military service, Wayne returned home to Nashville and joined the family business, Camp & Sons Moving Company. Over the years, the Camp family moved just about anything that could be moved—from homes to entire buildings. Wayne was known for his reliability, strength, and determination, earning respect from those who worked alongside him and those he served.
In addition to his work in the family business, Wayne also dedicated time to public service. He worked with Captain Gill at the White Creek Fire Department, serving as a fire department engineer. In this role, he continued his lifelong pattern of helping others and serving his community with pride.
Throughout his life, Wayne worked tirelessly to provide for and protect his family. He was a man who always stepped up when help was needed, whether for family, friends, or community members. His hard work, service, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
