Mr. Wayne Thomas Curtis Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Wayne Thomas Curtis, Sr., 77, a resident of Old Hickory, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Skyline Madison Campus.
The Kansas City, Missouri native was the son of the late Louis and Vivian Swim Curtis. He was a tractor trailer driver for several companies in the Nashville area, owner and operator of Curtis Garage, affiliated with the Rug Doctor and Nashville Recycling where he was a delivery manager. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed dancing, NASCAR, Tennessee Titans, and was a great whistler. He was very active in the the American Legion Post 82 in Inglewood.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lois Curtis, two daughters, Sherry (Allen) Sibley and Janet (Rick) Honey; three step daughters, Roxanne (Gary) Giumetti, Jacqueline Haga and Charlotte (Darryl) Matthews; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Chase, Stephanie, Dylan, Heather, Samantha, Chris and Daren; two great grandchildren, Alyssa Whatley and Landon Alexander Neuwirth; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a son, Wayne Thomas Curtis, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1:00PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Corinda Edgen officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 11:00AM until service time. Entombment will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 82 in Inglewood. Arrangements have been entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Nashville, 615-865-1101.
