Wesley Harlan Hudson's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Wesley Harlan Hudson
December 20th, 1956 – March 7th, 2026
We celebrate the beautiful life of Wesley Harlan Hudson, born in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 20th, 1956. From his earliest days, he showed the wit, knowledge, and caring spirit that would guide every step of his journey.
Beginning in 1984, Wesley served with the fire department for thirty-five years. He also sold and serviced fire trucks with the same steady dedication along side his father and brother. His deep know-how made him the person everyone trusted when an engine needed attention or a project hit a snag.
Wesley’s heart for service reached beyond work. He volunteered with the Nashville Fire Credit Union and proudly supported the Fire Buffs, always ready to pitch in and lift others up.
Time off found him camping beside quiet lakes, casting a fishing line, or admiring and working on antique vehicles and tractors. Friends remember him as a true foody who loved critiquing dishes almost as much as he loved sharing a good laugh. He became known as the food critic around the fire house.
Family meant everything to Wesley and he was the rock to his family and friends. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Marcella “Marcie” Hudson, daughter Renee Hudson (Richard), brother James Hudson (Cheryl), son, Stephen Hyde (Hailey), grandchildren, Alysa Grant, Savannah Thompson (Steven), and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Hyde, Madelyn Biggs and one on the way, Oakland Harlan Hudson Hyde, niece Elise Hudson (George), nephews Jaime Hudson (Amanda) and Taylor Hudson (Jess), great niece Adelie Hudson, mother-in-law, Connie Lieb, and all his fire family. He now reunites with his parents, Donald and Marie Hudson.
Wesley leaves a legacy of helpful hands and steady guidance. As we share stories of engines fixed, fires fought, and campfires enjoyed, we honor a life well-lived and carry his upbeat spirit forward. He will be greatly missed by close and beloved friends, extended family.
