Wilfred Michael DuMont's Obituary
Wilfred Michael DuMont “Mike”, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 86. Born to the late Wilfred M. DuMont and Winifred Gilligan DuMont on May 18, 1938 in Paducah, Kentucky, Mike lived a life full of love and cherished memories. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Patricia DuMont Warner and Mary Delia DuMont.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 36 years, Sue DuMont. Mike was a proud and loving father to his two sons, Kevin (Susan) DuMont and Kent DuMont, as well as to Lynn Woods and Stacey Plummer; grandfather to Brittany (Charlie) Johnson, Koby (Dani) DuMont, Bailey (Matthew) Miller, Jackson Woods, Brennan (Dillon) Preisendorfer, Robby Plummer, and Drew Plummer; and great-grandfather to John Parker DuMont, Baylor DuMont, Essie Grae Johnson, Mary Chandler DuMont, Janie Miller, Alice Miller, Cash Johnson, Prescott DuMont, and Macklee Preisendorfer. Additionally, he is survived by a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Mike was a graduate of Father Ryan High School, class of 1956. He worked as a healthcare consultant which allowed him to travel for work, going as far as Alaska. Mike had a deep love for sports. He coached youth sports in Hendersonville for many years and he loved playing golf. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and the Tennessee Titans. Being a part of the "Music City Bop Club" with his wife was a shared passion that brought them years of happiness and cherished friendships.
Mike will be deeply missed by those who love him, but his family finds peace in knowing they will be reunited one day.
The family will receive visitors at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison, TN on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 3-7pm. Additional visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Church in Madison at 11 am until Mass of the Resurrection at 12pm. Interment will follow with Koby DuMont, Lynn Woods, Charlie Johnson, Matthew Miller, Robby Plummer, Drew Plummer, and Johnny Ferguson serving as pallbearers.
