Mrs. Wilhelmina Benz Harris' Obituary
HARRIS, Wilhelmina Benz, age 97, was born on April 4, 1916 to the late William W. Benz and Nellie Stilz Benz. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward W. Harris; her sisters, Frances B. Harrison, Ruth Benz Lewis and Carrie Louise Benz Smith and stepmother, Frances Wade Benz. She is survived by her son, Edward W. Harris, Jr., daughter, Mary Jo (Jeff) Harlan, grandson, John Andrew Harris, brothers, William W. (Billy) Benz, Jr. and John E. (Jack) Benz.
She graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1935. She was hired at H. G. Hill Company in the office as a comptometer operator and worked there until she married in 1943. Many years later she returned to employment at H. G. Hills and recalled many happy memories of her friends at Hills.
She was an active member of Dalewood United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and will be remembered for her sweet and kind disposition, her devotion to her family and friends and Christian Spirit.
Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until her Celebration of Life Service time at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Robert Lewis. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
