Mr. William Alexander's Obituary
William “Daddy Bill” Alexander, age 87, passed away on July 8, 2013. Mr. Alexander served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and received a Purple Heart after being wounded at Iwo Jima. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Pace Alexander; son, Joseph Floyd Alexander; daughter, Judith Ann Boden; brother, Joe Alexander; and sisters, Anna Katherine Strader and Mary Pippin. Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Rebecca Alexander; daughter Liz Franklin (Willis); brother, Glenn (Opal) Alexander; sister, Sue Nell Grider; grandchildren, Scott Boden (Leslie), Ann Boden, Mary Beth (Kevin) Stearman, and Michelle Weitzel; step-sons, David Parker, Steven Parker, and Mark Parker; as well as eight great-grandchildren. The family will gather and receive visitors at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 4-8 P.M. A celebration of Mr. Alexander’s life will take place in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Dan Dozier officiating. Visitation will also take place at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, Kentucky on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 4-8 P.M. A second celebration of life service will take place on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, KY, with Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Interment will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Patients Assistance Program at Cumberland Heights or to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.
