Mr. William D. Bilbrey Sr.'s Obituary
William Dolphus Bilbrey, Sr., age 73, of Goodlettsville, passed away on July 11, 2014. Mr. Bilbrey was born on July 1, 1941, to the late William and Rubye Bilbrey. He loved history books and documentaries. He was an avid movie buff and collected all kinds of movies over the years. He also liked to do word searches, and had a book of them for every room in the house. He was fond of the saying, “a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do,” and he will be remembered as a man who loved “his babies,” whether they were children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bilbrey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Anna Laura Bilbrey; and his son, Timothy D. Bilbrey. He is survived by his sons, William D. Bilbrey, Jr., and Kenneth D. Bilbrey; daughter, Cynthia D. (Carl) Smith; sisters, Edith Aldridge, Linda Watson, and Robbie Ward; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 4pm to 8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 10am until the time of service.
A Celebration of Life service to honor Mr. Bilbrey will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 11am, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Chapel Mausoleum of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with family serving as pallbearers.
