William "Billy" Eugene Linneman's Obituary
William “Billy” Eugene Linneman, 79, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, sadly passed away on August 28, 2024. Billy was born on June 12, 1945, in Sacramento, California, to the late Jack Junior Linneman and Betty Jo Johnson Linneman.
In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Ann Taylor Linneman.
Billy is survived by his son, Gene Linneman; sister, Jackie Sellers; nieces, Linda Bain and Darlene Batie; nephew, Andrew Sellers; great-nieces, Andrea Hillis, Jolene Batie, and Sydney Sellers; and great-nephews, Taylor (Morgan) Bain, Daniel Batie, and Aubrey Sellers.
Billy spent all his life in the music industry. While at Madison High School, Billy began playing music professionally and it led to a lifelong career that will be remembered by many. At the age of 19, he started playing on the Grand Ole Opry stage and he continued to do so for the next 50 years. He was featured on TV shows like the Ralph Emery show and Nashville Now. He was part owner of Hilltop recording studio and performed on numerous records. He was strong-willed, but always remembered to be humble. For many years, he taught a men’s Sunday school class. Even through all his accomplishments, family was the most important thing to Billy. He was a good husband, father, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
