Mr. William J. (Buddy) Curran III's Obituary
Born on May 15, 1947 and died on March 23, 2018 at 70 years of age. Married to Pamela Kittrell Curran for 51 years.
Preceded in death by son John Christopher, parents William John II and Geraldine, and brother Ronald Curran.
Survived by wife Pamela, daughter Melissa (David) Hite, son Matt and grandson Matthew, sister Pat (Tommy) Compton, and nephews Toby and Tim.
After graduation from East High in 1966, Buddy joined the Air Force as a member of the Air National Guard and retired after 25 years of service. He joined the Nashville Fire Department in 1969, and rose through the ranks during his career, retiring as Deputy Chief. He was Business Manager for the Tennessee Fire Chiefs’ Association for many years; served on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Fire Chiefs’ Association; and taught Incident Command at the National Fire Academy.
In retirement, he worked with stained glass and developed his skills in lapidary and metalsmithing.
Of his many roles, his favorite was as Papa to grandson Matthew.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 4-8pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, and again 1 hr prior to the mass on Wednesday at the church.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital or Nashville Fire Buffs’ Box 55 Association.
