Mr. William Nathan Massey, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. William Nathan Massey, Sr., age 83, passed away January 16, 2016. He was born on December 18, 1932 in Bruceton, TN to the late Edgar and Ruby Massey.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda Massey Dickey, and son-in-law, Mike Orrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years, Iva Massey; children Kathy Massey Orrick, and son Nathan Massey (Debbie); grandchildren Jennifer Gregory (Kyle), Brian Biggs (Dorinda), Sonny Hunter, and Charles Alan Jackson; eight great-grandchildren and brother Franklin Brawley.
William “Big John” worked for over 40 years at Piedmont Gas Company, formerly known as Nashville Gas. He was known for being a hard worker, enjoyed gardening and traveling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. David Royalty officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216, 615-865-1101, www.springhillfh.com.
