William Thomas (W.T.) Parker's Obituary
Greenbrier, TN - William Thomas Parker went to be with his Lord and Savior November 18, 2017, in his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, and enjoyed all sports, especially Notre Dame Football and his ever changing love of cars.
William was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a 3rd degree Knight, of the Knights of Columbus. He was 88 years old, born in Humboldt, TN on May 27, 1929.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elsie Parker, and his brother, Floyd W. Parker. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marian Roberson Parker. Also survived by his 6 children, Steven R. Parker (Jeff) of Reading, PA, Brian Keith Parker (Mickey) of Whitehouse, TN, Cindy Weakley (Greg) of Greenbrier, TN, Eric Parker (Lisa) of Pleasant View, TN, Angie Hackney (Pat) of Greenbrier, TN and Theresa Williford (Richard) of Greenbrier, TN.
He was Poppy and PapPaw to 14 grandchildren, Melanie, Christina, Jennifer, Stephanie, Lauren, Ashley, Chad, Colby, Charlea, Hailey, Hope, Houston, Chris, and Patrick. Also, 11 great-grandchildren with another one on the way in March. A true family man that loved all family gatherings and holidays.
He retired after 8 years at E.I. Dupont, and 40 years at Ford Glass Plant, and was a member of the U.A.W.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1225 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115 on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 with visitation held 1 hr. prior to the Mass. Following the Mass, interment will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
