William "Son" Allen Brassell Jr's Obituary
Mr. William "Son" Allen Brassell Jr. age 85 of Gallatin, TN passed away October 22, 2024. He was born March 29, 1939 in Nashville, TN to the late William Allen Sr. and Marie Brassell.
Along with his parents, Son was preceded in death by daughter, Soni Leigh Brassell and grandson, Charles Matthew Duncan.
Son is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy Brassell; daughter, Vickie (Robert) Buttrey; grandsons, Joshua Duncan, J.D. Norman IV and Garrett Buttrey; great-grandchildren, his 5 brothers; Jim(Chloe), Jere (Crystal), Lynn (Anita), Randel (Jackie), John (Yolanda) Brassell and multiple nieces and nephews.
Son loved these things the most his wife, Nancy, dogs and kids (yes, in that order). Due to his stoic nature, he served his country with the National Guard for 13 years . Once he was honorably discharged, he worked at The National Casket Co. and then retired as a letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed sitting in his rocking chair on the front porch and riding on his side by side to feed the birds. He watched Fox News religiously and you could expect it to be on while visiting. He loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed listening to classical music. He was a man of few words but when he spoke you wanted to listen to what he was saying.
There was not an animal or child that did not love Son. He loved his friends and family unconditionally and was greatly loved and cherished by all who knew him. He earned his nicknames; The Godfather, The Dogfather and truly was “ The man, the myth and the legend”.
He will be greatly missed.
