Mr. William R. "Bill" Stewart's Obituary
William Ray “Bill” Stewart was born on March 19, 1938 in Nashville, Tennessee to William O. and Edith (Staggs) Stewart.
Bill graduated from Issac Litton High School in 1956. In Bill’s early years, he worked as a radio announcer in Tennessee and Florida and served in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He retired from Sears and is a former Elder of Hermitage Church of Christ.
Bill was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his babies. He also loved talking about the Lord with everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years Cynthia (Williams) Stewart; his children Vicky Rhea (Steve) Smith, Jayne Ann Burton, and William Brooks (Danielle) Stewart; grandchildren Bradley (Lauren) Smith, Ben Smith, Kimberly (Brandon) Moore, Jessica (Ryan) Pendergrass, Emily Burton, Skylor Stewart, and Carsen Stewart. In addition, Bill is survived by his great-grandchildren Hadley Smith, Hoyt Smith, Madelyn Moore, and Jaxon Moore.
Active pallbearers will be Skylor Stewart, Bradley Smith, Ben Smith, Jeff Stewart, Paul da Cunha, Matt St. James, Ryan Pendergrass, and Travis Kritz.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Tennessee Children’s Home or Church of Christ Disaster Relief in Bill’s name.
