Ms. Wilma Marcella Mattingly's Obituary
Wilma Marcella Stephens Mattingly passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born April 18, 1948 in Nashville, TN. She was a graduate of Hume Fogg Technical and Vocational High School class of 1966 and she was also a cheerleader in high school. Wilma received her BS in Psychology from the University of Tennessee.
She was a member of the Lockeland Baptist Church for many years. Wilma worked at the Tennessee Agriculural Center and she also enjoyed scuba diving, traveling, hiking, camping and all water sports.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Leonard D. “Lenny” Mattingly (married on 12/2/1983); parents Gerald and Vida Mai Stephens; brothers Sammy Stephens, Kenny Stephens; niece Heather Thornton.
She is survived by brothers Jerry (Leigh) Stephens, Curtis (Jenny) Stephens, Billy Stephens; sisters Nancy Carolyn (Don) Crutchfield, Delane (Tom) Thornton and step daughter Kelly Mattingly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. They all loved their fun loving Aunt Wilma. She will also be greatly missed by her dog Fluffy.
Wilma’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery at 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216. There will also be an additional visitation on Wednesday from 1-2:45 PM with the graveside service immediately following at 2:45 PM where she will be placed to rest next to her husband Lenny.
