Wilton Claxton DePriest's Obituary
Wilton Claxton DePriest - Age 85 passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee. Born September 19th, 1937 in Dickson, TN.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gayle Fulghum DePriest and parents, Mary and Herman DePriest.
Wilton was raised in Inglewood and attended City Road Methodist church later becoming a member of First Baptist Church in Goodlettsville. Wilton was a proud graduate of Isaac Litton High School from which he maintained lifelong friendships.
Wilton graduated from Samford University where he also obtained his Doctorate in Pharmacy. Wilton and Gayle purchased Madison Drug Co. in Madison, TN and began decades of serving the Madison community though this pharmacy and also Pugh's Pharmacy.
Wilton was a lifelong sports fan particularly tennis, basketball and baseball. Many hours were spent with family and friends in backyard tennis tournaments and neighborhood basketball games. A highlight was getting to coach the FBC softball team one season.
Mr. DePriest leaves behind his daughter, Ashley DePriest (Mark Mascolo); sons, Brent DePriest (Janice) and Chris DePriest; Grandchildren, Christian, Katie and Ella.
The family wishes to thank the many friends that have supported them through this process. Much gratitude to Jerri Ann, Cori, Jennifer and Jamie for years of bringing cheer and care to both Gayle and Wilton. Special thanks to the Flamingo Girls, friends who supported Gayle and the family throughout Wilton's illness.

Thank you to the amazing caregivers Caty, Diana, Senora and Henry, who truly did care and allowed dad to maintain his dignity and remain in his home for so long.
Services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee. Visitation on Wednesday 9th of November from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday the 10th from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Service to be held at noon with family burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
