Winona Linda Wilson's Obituary
Winona Linda Wilson, "Nonie" beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and cat enthusiast, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25th at the age of 77. She leaves behind a legacy stitched together with laughter, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the simple beauty of the world around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Mariam Govey; her loving husband, Paul Timothy Wilson; one son, Dean Dawson
Born on August 28th, 1948, she grew into a woman whose humor could brighten the darkest day. She had a gift for finding joy in the everyday—and for making sure everyone around her found it too.
A lifelong craftswoman and talented seamstress, she could turn a bolt of fabric into something magical. Whether she was sewing clothes, or crafting gifts that no store could ever replicate, her hands were always busy creating something infused with love.
She was also deeply connected to nature and gardening, tending her plants with the same care she gave her family. She believed that nurturing the earth was one of life’s quiet joys, and she shared that love generously with anyone willing to get their hands a little dirty.
Above all, she was the heart of her family—steady, loving, and endlessly supportive. She taught us to laugh loudly, love fiercely, and never underestimate the power of a well‑timed joke or a well‑sewn hem.
She is survived by David Dawson, Dale Dawson (Heather), Danette MaGee (Floyd), Dawn Baker (Chuck), Darla Rose Jones (Jerry); two brothers, Steve McDougall and Jack Govey; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her humor, her creativity, and her love for life in their hearts.
