Mr. Yeu Thach's Obituary
Yeu (Duc) Thach ascended to heaven May 28, 2023. He was a caring son and brother, a devoted husband, a loving father and an incredible friend to all.
Yeu was born to Yen and Chieu Thach on April 3, 1980 in the small town of Tra Vinh, Vietnam. Along with his parents, aunt, younger brother and sister, Yeu migrated to Des Moines, Iowa in 1991. He attended North High School, where he excelled in all his classes and was a proud member of the basketball team and the ROTC program.
At the age of 17, Yeu was determined to join the Marines Corps. He served in the Marine Corps for 12 years as an Infantry Machine Gunner in the Iraq war. He was injured by shrapnel from an IED (improvised explosive device) and later awarded with the Marine Corps Purple Heart. Yeu was a true patriot who loved his family and country.
Yeu moved to Tennessee in 2012 to start his own little family with his wife, Maly Ke. He made Tennessee his home and became the owner of the well loved Donut Palace in the town of Hermitage. Yeu was a hard worker and a loving family man. To his community, he was always there with a helping hand and gave back in any way he can through charitable work. He treated everyone with dignity and respect and oftentimes went above and beyond to help those in need.
Besides having a heart of gold, Yeu also had a great sense of humor. He was always ready to crack jokes and spread laughters to everyone. We know that wherever Yeu is, he would be surrounded by many new wonderful friends.
We miss him dearly but in our hearts Yeu is not gone, just simply has gone fishing…
Yeu is survived by his wife, Maly Ke; his children, Tate, Rithy, and Melissa Thach; his step-daughter, Jessica Watson; his parents, Yen and Chieu Thach; and his siblings, Duoc and Siene Thach.
A Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 11am to 1pm, with a Traditional Buddhist Ceremony beginning at 1pm.
Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery has been entrusted with the final care of Mr. Thach. 5110 Gallatin Pike South, Nashville, Tennessee 37216. (615) 865-1101. "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
