Mr. Zane Grey "Blackie" Blackburn's Obituary
Mr. Zane Grey “Blackie” Blackburn, age 83 of Nashville, Tennessee went home to join the Lord on January 1, 2014. Mr. Blackburn was born October 7, 1930 in Nashville, TN to Elmer H. Blackburn and Flossie Malone Blackburn.
Mr. Blackburn served in the United States Air Force and was retired from Avco/Textron. He was an active member of Inglewood Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Elmer B. Blackburn, and his wife of 61 years, Mary Evelyn Watts Blackburn. He is survived by sons, Phillip (Sharon) Blackburn and Kenneth (Tenae) Blackburn; daughter, Donna (Keith) Freemon; grandchildren, Jill Blackburn, Josh Noel, Jason (Jessica) Blackburn, Autumn Blackburn, Noah Anderson, and Jonah Anderson; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Blackburn’s life will be conducted at 11AM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery with Jason Blackburn, Cody Woodall, Collin Hewitt, Austin Woodall, Noah Anderson, Jonah Anderson, and Alex Brown serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4PM to 8PM on Friday, January 3, 2014 and from 10AM to 11AM on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
