Juhree Rigsby, 93, of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021, in Murfreesboro. Born April 9, 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert “Neal” Gross and Frances “Octavine” Morris Gross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Rodney Rigsby in 2009.
She is survived by son Ricky (Delores) Rigsby; daughter-in-law Vickie Rigsby; grandchildren Dewayne (Lisa), Tonya, Tammy (Wayne), Todd (Sandy), Keith, Kevin, and Keeley; step granddaughter Lora (Shawn); 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
Juhree was raised in Nashville attending East Nashville High and later living in Smyrna Tn. She worked 35 years for the State of Tennessee in the Treasury Department.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, puzzles, reading and spending time with her family. At 93 she was still driving and going to her favorite stores, Kroger and Publix to shop and get exercise. The family is thankful for her longevity and the many memories she leaves us with. She will be missed.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 23rd from 10 am till 2 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM with Pastor Terry Campbell of Giles Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
