Mr. Art was an amazing man. He was always good to Brent and me. He is loved and will be missed.
Mr Art was a special individual who always made you feel like you were one of his most valued patrons. My family's thoughts and prayers are with all who cared for and shared this sweet man's life.
When I was President of Celebrating Patsy Cline, an organization established to build a Patsy Cline Museum and promote her legacy, Art was so supportive. He bought lots of our shirts and displayed them around the restaurant. He was such a nice gentleman. My last visit there when I happen to see him was a lunch with Tandy Rice.
P.S. My wife is from Boston, and because of the delicious Dotson's menu, she is has become an ardent disciple of our Southern cuisine!!
Blessings,
Philip and Donna Martin
We had lived in Nashville since 1978,in 1998 we began our search for "our home" in Williamson County.Early in 1998 my Daddy was diagnosed with Altzheimers'.We moved my parents to Brentwood, from Florida and kept searching for a home.Mama loved going to Earl's and then lunch at Dotson's.We found our home and were set to move in the 1st of September.Mama died August 18th.It became an unbelievably emotional time.Dotson's was a place I could go and feel comforted.Through the years you all have been a part of my family and heart, perhaps unknown to you,but very much appreciated and loved.
Mr.Art was such a special person. He seemed to know when to give someone a jar of jelly just when they needed a "little something".
Blessings and prayers to you all.

No Mr.Art that wasn't me that droped the cake it was Patti. I have and will continue to miss you. Dotson's was'nt just a job it turned into my family. I am at a loss of words. I cared much for you and everyone at work. Everyday I left I would say see ya Mr. Art and your reply not if I see you first!!!!! Everyday..... but it always made me laugh.
To the family my heart breaks for all of you. Don,Terry,George,Billy and Linda. Iam so glad Dotson's became my family. Thank you Mr. Art.
To Renea and Zhanee what can I say you two had a long time with Art. This he loved. As we sat and talked at different times he spoke of Renea with an open heart I could see that in his heart was a special part for Renea. You took such good care of him and that is is the reason he made it this far. A love of friends that will always be there. No one can take that from you. Mr.Art I will miss you but you will always have place in my heart. Loved you

Our thoughts and prayers go to the family of Art McCloud. He will be missed.
