Barbara Ruth Saunders' Obituary
SAUNDERS, Barbara Ruth - Age 89 passed away 11/11/23 after a courageous battle with dementia. She was a devoted wife to her husband Philip Saunders for 47 years and a devoted mother to her three children. Her life was greatly brightened with the birth of her grandson Philip Saunders Jaroch. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Ray Saunders, parents Dudley Lewis and Dorcas Lewis. She is survived by her children, son George Lewis Saunders of Clifton, TN; daughter Laurie Saunders Jaroch and husband Allen of Joelton, TN; daughter Cindy Saunders Ludlow and husband Andrus of Lebanon, TN; sister Rebecca Stewart; grandson Philip Saunders Jaroch. She was a graduate of Goodlettsville High School. After Barbara married her husband, she gave up her job at National Life Insurance Company and became a full time stay at home mother. Barbara was a native Nashvillian. She was very talented & creative, she loved China painting as she took classes for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing anything from outfits to quilts, decorating their home and shopping for her family was one of her great joys. She was a member of Two Rivers Baptist Church for over 25 years where in the past she was class secretary, social chairperson, and helped with the children's choir. She loved the Lord and her and Philip's dedication to God was one of their highest achievements.
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with a chapel service at 12:00 PM and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. Dr. Hubert Cunningham will preside over the service.
Active pallbearers will consist of Allen Reid Jaroch, Phillip Saunders Jaroch, Andrus Gardner Ludlow, Randall Stewart, and James Hamlet.
Those desiring may make memorials or donations to Alive Hospice, (615)-327-1085 in lieu of flowers.
Final arrangements for Ms. Saunders are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes to Remember."
