I love you Betty, Jennie McElyea
Don an I are sorry for you loss we know how much she will be missed by all of you. I'm sorry I never got to meet her. She is with the Lord now at rest
You could always see her love for Jesus just by her smile. Her love for children always touched my heart. When we would eat lunch she would light up to hug and say hello to Lane and Brooke. I remember Mrs. Ragan knew Brooke loved Johnny Depp, sure enough one day she had a bunch of pictures that she found in magazines of him and gave them to Brooke. Each time we saw her she would ask about items to give to the children through her church. I was so glad we got to eat lunch with her when we came back to Tennessee during a cross country drive. I could tell she didn't feel to well, but greeted us with a smile and a hug....and the three children we have adopted was greeted just the same. My kids loved getting her post cards of places we would visit, and picked them out with care. I am sure each person she knew and loved will cherish the memories they had with her. For this is not a goodbye, but a see you when we are all called home. I can just imagine that smile when she was greeted by The Lord! Although we can't be there now, we send out love and prayers to the family. We love you all.
A lovely, sweet woman, that always had a warm smile for me whenever I came through her door. Rest in peace, Betty.
I have known Betty for many years. We became friends through the books we both loved. We talked about everything over the years at my book store. Family, history, health, the world in general. I always loved it when she walked through the door. Her warmth and her humor made my day. She wil be missed more than I can say. She will always be in my memory. Goobye dear friend. Teresa
