Ms. Bonnie Anderson Burton's Obituary
Bonnie Anderson Burton – Age 87 of Nashville, TN went to be with the Lord Monday May 6th, 2019. ‘Ms. Bonnie’ was born November 23, 1931 to Ned Anderson & Mattie Allison Anderson in Silver Point, TN. She started her career early as a telephone operator and continued with AT&T (Bell South) until she took early retirement in her late 50’s. Not one to sit still, she soon returned to the work force at the state of Tennessee Revenue Department as an executive secretary where she accomplished a 2nd retirement.
Ms. Bonnie was a spunky woman who remained active throughout her life. She was a hard worker, great cook, proficient quilter, and a loving classy “Grandmother” who was 39 for over 20+ years. She dearly loved her church family at Jackson Park Church of Christ and especially loved singing hymns. Bonnie was a wildflower, that thrived even in difficult environments and through challenging circumstances. She cared for her mother and sister in her home for many years and was devoted to her family and friends. She also was especially appreciative of her loyal friend Gayle Hymer with whom she worked at the State.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son Gary and is survived by her sister Bobbie Maynard and Brother Clay Anderson of Silver Point TN; Also she is survived by her daughter Cathey (Rucker) Chunn; Granddaughters Jennifer (Dwayne) Jeffries, Stacy Chunn, and by 6 Great Grandchildren Kayla Sanders, Jack Jeffries, Haley Sanders, Grace Jeffries, Noah and Piper Sanders. Additionally, the family is very grateful for the love and support of friend Gayle Hymer, neighbor Kristy and Brookdale caregivers for their assistance & support provided.
Visitation will be held Friday May 10th 4-8PM; Service Saturday 11:00AM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville with Rucker Chunn, a minister of Mt. Juliet Church of God, officiating.
