My prayers have been with you Bill and the family all week. Carol and I had some wonderful times traveling to bridge tournaments. She was such a delight to be around. Always upbeat and never negative. I will truely miss that sweet smile. I especially want to say thank you for having the livestream today. It will mean so much to those of us that can not be there in person. Blessings to all! Sheila Fleming
Carol and Bill were Western Kentucky University friends in the mid-60's. Carol and I were on the charter Rebelettes, a girl's ROTC drill team. Bill was in the ROTC and Pershing Rifles. I assume that is where they met, and later married. I remember Carol as out going and friendly, always a smile on her face.
Carol mastered out silent drills and was a ROTC Company Sponsor and in the Military Ball Queen's court. We lost contact over the years, except for Christmas cards every year, but a few years back I was able to visit Carol and Bill in their lovely Brentwood, TN, home, sharing laughs, memories, and pictures of our campus life. The last time I saw her was a couple years ago, when she and Bill came Bowling Green, KY, to dinner with some of us from ROTC/Pershing Rifles/Rebelette days. Carol was just as pretty, sweet, and wonderful as back at WKU.
People will tell you they are sorry for your loss. But Carol isn't "lost". You know where she is: She's in Heaven, where she is healthy and no longer suffering. We send our sincerest condolences to Carol's family and loved ones. Ronnie and Carol Mays Dillard
Carol and I shared a love of bridge and jewelry. I often asked if I could purchase one of her necklaces. She kept refusing. LOL. She will be sorely missed.

Carol was a member of the Rebelettes WKU drill team when I was its commander. I remember her spirit was exceptional, she served as a mentor to new team members and encouraged all to do their very very best. A true leader... on and off the drill field.
I will always remember when I asked Carol what she would do if she were better and she replied, play bridge, so we were able to set up a one table game and she played for an hour just 2 weeks before she passed away. A tough and sweet lady!
