Mr. Charles R. "Charlie" Foster's Obituary
Foster, Charles R. “Charlie” – Goodlettsville. Age 70. Passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irene Foster. Deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Billie Reece Foster, daughter Debbie Foster Tolbert, grandson Landon Tolbert, granddaughters Kailee Tolbert and Danielle (Travis) Vongxay, great-grandchildren Camdyn and Emilya Vongxay, brother Tom (Judy) Foster, brother-in-law Bo (Lindy) Reece, nephews Ryan (Kim) Foster, Ronnie Ragan and David Ragan, nieces Emily (Shelby) Hunton and Charlotte (Trace) Hall, God-daughter Amy Tolbert, and his loving doggie “Maggie”. Charlie loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church for almost 50 years. He worked for Peterbilt Motors from 1969 when the plant opened until 2009 when the plant closed. He made many lifelong friends there. He loved fishing, cooking and flowers. His kind and generous heart made him a friend to all.
A special thanks to our many prayer warriors, who lifted us up daily throughout Charlie’s Illness. Your love and prayers, your encouraging words and cards were used in a mighty way to remind us of God’s love and provisions of every kind. We have been so blessed to have you walk with us on this long journey.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2:00 – 8:00p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home, Madison. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service. The funeral will be held Monday, February 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church, 505 Cunniff Parkway, Goodlettsville, with Rev. Ken Castleberry officiating.
Active pallbearers: Landon Tolbert, Tom Foster, Bo Reece, Ryan Foster, Joe Sanders, Lenny Larson, David and Ronnie Ragan. Honorary pallbearers: Parkway’s Real Men’s Sunday School Class, Ernest Parrish, Tucker Parrish, Ron Cotton, Phillip Reynolds, Bobby Sutton, Dale Harper, and Tommy Stockton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkway Baptist Church’s 2020 Vision Fund or to the Gideon’s International.
