Clifford Basso's Obituary
Clifford Basso, 73, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Dominick Basso and a sister, Angela Fannin.
Mr. Basso is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie Basso, two children, Carinda Bastin (David) and Christopher Basso (Jason Tam), a granddaughter, Ainsley Bastin and a sister, Beth Butler.
Dad. Papa. Husband. Brother. Cousin. Nephew. Clifford Basso wore many hats during his life but these were the most important to him. For him family was everything.
Clifford is the oldest of 30 grandchildren and grew up constantly surrounded by his many cousins, aunts and uncles. This importance of family is what he passed on to his children after he met the love of his life, Connie, at Virginia Beach.
His love of country started at birth with his Dad serving in the Army to when Clifford served for nine years in the Navy. To know Clifford is to know his love of country and it’s symbol the American bald eagle.
Clifford also enjoyed many hobbies that included photography, wood working and a love for all things Woodstock of the Peanuts comic strip. His love of photography has captured many precious memories over the years from family reunions to the birth of his granddaughter Ainsley - the light of his life.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 19 from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216.
