Mrs. Corena Jane Malone's Obituary
Mrs. Corena Jane Malone, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Lydie Elmer Quillen and Ollie Mae Davis Quillen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth M. Malone, daughter Laura Pugh, son Kenneth “Buddy” Malone, brothers Don, Jack, Ellery, Paul, and infant brother E.L. Quillen; sisters Sylvia Mason Ogburn, Charlotte Bane, and Laura Edna McFarlane. She is survived by her daughters Karen Powers (Brian) of Aurora, Colorado and Teresa Rich (Steve) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren Jennifer Powers, Shaun Powers, April Stinson, Michael Malone, Dawn Stahl, John Malone, Kristen Malone, and Jacob Pugh; many many great-grandchildren, brother Richard Quillen of Florida and sister Ella Dillard of Arizona, special friend Dona Brinnon, and of special comfort was her niece Donna Vanhoy. She is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Janie was a kind and loving person. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a loving mother and raised four children. Growing up on a farm as a girl, she developed a love for nature - particularly birds and flowers, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Janie also had a strong love for the ocean and adored trips to Virginia Beach with her family.
