Uncle Curtis was always full of smiles and jokes. He always educated us young kids on the military the good ole days, and Germany where he and Aunt Virginia lived while he was stationed overseas. Family reunions were always a good time when we all gathered and ate and laughed. It saddens me to see our family so small when at one time we were over flowing with aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents, kids, and grandkids. Praying that God heals all the hearts that are grieving during this time. That God grants PEACE for all during this difficult time. Love you all and will miss Uncle Curtis lots. ❤️😞

I had a lot of fun with Curtis. Being a daughter-in-law for 30 years you never treated me like that. He would take Mom James Joe and me fishing or just riding in his big yacht he constructed. He was a very loving and giving father-in-law. I shall miss him

Curtis was my father-in-law for 30 years and he was a very nice and generous one. Even though he had personality changes at the end to his disease he was still a very loving man. He was very good to everyone in the family and gave what he could to help them.

There's not a thing Bigdaddy wouldn't do for any family of his but if you knew him then you knew he wouldn't do anything without telling us, " You Better Go Ask Your Grandmother."
I remember the best memories with him are just coming over on weekends and school breaks just to hear his Military stories or his stories with how he met Grandma. Although the funniest thing would be Grandma always correcting him on their first encounter.
Their love for eachother was something I truly admired and thankful to be around.
Going down the river in his military boat or taking trips to their Clarksville Lake Lot to go fishing were truly amazing memories as well.
I always knew if I were going to Grandma and Bigdaddy's house that he had that tin can of Oreos & Planters Peanuts calling my name.
He was and always will be respected and appreciated for everything he did for us even though he didn't have to do so.
I'm blessed to call him a great grandfather.
He will truly be missed but forever remembered.
Thank you for the love you have spreaded through out generations. Xoxo

I have so many memories with Bigdaddy but what sticks out most is when we were little we knew never sit in his chair and if so when he came you better get up, and the way he always used to pop his teeth out at us he thought it was the funniest thing! I honestly don’t know where any of us would be without you, Not a man of many words but you were always there for me! Thank you for taking care of me when we lost mama! 🖤
