My condolences. Dan "Snork" and I made three patrols together aboard USS Will Rogers SSBN659 Blue Crew. One particular memory is from February 1980 when USS Will Rogers made a port call in Portland England. Portland was a NATO base, and there were other naval vessels there among them the German Frigate "Emden." "Snork" lead a tour group of "Chiefs" from the Emden aboard Will Rogers, and I assisted. The Germans invited us over to their ship, and we went the next day. The Germans were very hospitable and "Snork" and I drank a lot of german beer! "Snork" also took great pleasure in hazing the "non-quals!"

Rest in Peace my Friend :(
Another of my brothers in arms has been called home. Dan and I have been friends over 13 years,
We have laughed, cried, moaned in and belly-ached, but all in good nature.
As brothers in arms, we continued our long standing tradition of inter-service rivalry of name calling, insults and other high jinks known only to those who have served.
As a brother knight, Dan could be counted on to lend a hand for anything at anytime.
A fond memory of Dan being Dan was him showing up at the homebound meals pancake breakfast to help out cooking pancakes; however,
Dan showed up wearing a Vikings helmet and breast plate.
Our pancake breakfasts will never be the same without Dan.
Rest easy shipmate, we have the watch.
Daniel was a gentle soul and my husband loved him like a brother!! He shared his train with our grand son from Michigan l! We will miss him so much! Love and rest in peace dear Dan from David and Lynda Evjen

Rest in Peace, Danny. Even though we lived far apart, you always made the time to keep in touch. I will miss those phone calls. You are now reunited with your beloved Cheryl, mom, dad, David and Jeff. You will be missed and you will remain forever in our hearts. Love you Danny!
