It is impossible to say “Goodbye” to someone like Donna. She could light up a room when she walked into it with her joy, her kindness and her fierce determination. She was always a bright spot in our day and her spirit was ever-welcoming and gathering. I really can't think of a single person who didn't love her, she was that easy to love. And even when her body was failing her, she remained that steadfast constant friend, with that smile, that quicksilver wit, she managed to make us forget that there was anything wrong at all. It is a valiant soul that perseveres against the odds and commands a smile to appear and I will miss her for the rest of my life. She touched so many of us with her love of music, her love of family and her love of her friends, all of whom adored her. Special prayers for Bobbie Jean, Karen, Joe, who took such good care of her and loved her so, and Henry, who has loved her all our lives. She brought out the good in us, she loved with intensity, she held God close to her throughout her journey and now He has her, safely tucked in his arms like a baby, where she will sleep until paradise awakens her and then she will be well, without pain and suffering and where the air is clear and unimpeded by this world. God speed, our beloved Donna. You were always one of my very favorites. So I will not say, “Goodbye”, I will just say, “Later.” Here's hoping we meet again one fine day.
