Mrs. Evelyn M. Hodges' Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Mimms Hodges, aged 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. She was born in Guthrie, Todd County, Kentucky, on November 23rd 1928, to David T. and Evelyn Kimbrough Mimms. Over the years she also lived in Louisville and Frankfort, Kentucky, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Florence, Alabama and for the past 47 years, in Madison and finally at The Hearth, in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harold Edgar Hodges, Sr., her brothers David Mimms, Louie Mimms, David Mimms, Jr., and sister Sarah Mimms Rivers. She is survived by her brother, Robert L. Mimms, son Mark Hodges, Sr. (Lisa), son Harold Hodges, Jr. (Susan), daughter Sallie Touchton, grandchildren Elizabeth (Hodges) Snyder (Samuel), Mark Hodges, Jr. (Sarah), Megan (Hodges) Kaal (J.P. Kaal), Sarah Hodges, Bailey Touchton, and great grandchildren Addison Janssen, Alexander Finn and Deacon Snyder, and Caroline Kaal.
Evelyn, lived her life giving to others. She was a devoted friend. She loved to cook, especially baking at Christmas. She was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, which was passed along down the generations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and had also been an active member, and volunteer worker at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church, Madison, Tennessee.  Evelyn was an amazing woman who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 from 12 noon to 2pm at Spring Hill Funeral home. A Celebration of life graveside services will be conducted at 2p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband, Harold Hodges, Sr.
