Unfortunately we can't come to David's funeral as Elizabeth is sick and I am now a bilateral below the knee amputee.
David was one of the kindest and sincere gentleman I have ever known. My family bought from David since I was a teenager and he was at Montague with the old fashioned soda bar, then at the office at the medical office building across from Memorial Hospital, then at Goodlettsvile with the old fountain again that he had stored, and finally at the house on Main street in Goodlettsvile. What great memories! All the while he stayed the same, loving and helping people along the way. If all people were like David, what a wonderful world this would be! We will be praying for all the family.

We are so sorry to hear of your father's passing through. We didn't really have the chance to get to know your dad well but you are the living evidence of a life well lived and the way we live our lives is carried on. He clearly was a good Christian man with lasting values to pass on for generations to come. I know he had to have been so proud of you and happy for the way you are living your life. I just want to say how very sorry I was to read about his passing; he was such a gentleman and a fine man; I met him at TN Christian when we use to exercise there and then later on would visit with him on occasion at Fifty Forward in Madison. He will certainly be greatly missed and I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I just hate to hear this . He was just at my Moms Funeral last Month. My Dad Loved David. My Fond Memories of Mr Elder were as a little boy, going to his Soda Fountain for a Float with my Dad. I think i remember all the men that hung out their had their own Coffee cups their. He was the Picture of a little Town Dr when he would leave our Meds in the Mail Box late after Business hours. He cared about People an he cared about his Town. I would like to offer My Families Condolences for the lost of Mr Elder.

I always loved going to "Elder's Pharmacy" ........loved the 'lunch counter' and all the store itself had to offer....also went to church with the 'Elders', (City Road UMC)...along with many of their family members....great family unit! David Elder is resting in the arms of Jesus! Amen! RIP David Elder....
