EVERY RAINDROP HAS A NAME
James_ is ours:
Every raindrop comes from the heavens and falls to the earth. If you could truly see it in the light of the sun, you’d see its beauty, innocence and power. Where it falls no one knows, but it is placed on the earth in the very place it is needed.
Some rain drops fall in the country where they nourish the grass for cows, sheep and other farm animals that graze. Other rain drops fall in the meadows where flowers and vegetable gardens need them to grow. While other rain drops fall on farmland
to help supply food for people everywhere. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Some rain drops fall in the forest where they gently run down trees and shrubs giving them strength to reach for the skies. One day because of the rain drops these trees will be houses for humans. While other rain drops fell deep in the woods for bears, elks, their babies, and other animals of the forest. Some rain drops make it to the ground where they feed the moss and mushrooms. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Some of the rain drops fall into the rivers and streams to give themselves as the essential moisture for life to the fish that live in them and water reservoirs for people. They join other rain drops running over the rocks and through the creeks and gullies till they reach the cities. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Some rain drops fall in the desert where they quickly evaporate, but the few that fall on greenery give hope and life. The cactus and other plants and animals that need water are always glad to have them stay around. In some deserts these rain drops turn the arid place into an oasis for all desert creatures. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Some rain drops fall into the oceans and sea, where it seems no one takes note of them. But the fish and other residents of these waters are grateful for their fall. Because every raindrop joins hundreds more and makes the fishes’ home roomier and happier. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Some rain drops fall in the city, where they wash the streets clean and make windows gleam. Even though they fall to make life better people ward them off with umbrellas. Look at the buttercups springing from the ground and the day lilies raising their shoots and opening their blooms to the heavens. They understand the rain drops fall to help them live and show the beauty of love from the one above. They gave themselves totally, yet their name is unknown.
Though it seems the raindrop didn’t last long. It accomplished its life purpose,
to give itself fully, then return to the heavens and our GOD,
who dropped him into our life.
