Mr. Joe Edward Brown's Obituary
Joe Edward Brown, 93, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Hendersonville. Born September 29, 1928 in Gainsboro, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ernest and Alma Minchey Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Frances Williams Brown; daughter Linda Brown Hawley; brothers Larry, Gene and Charles Brown; sister Marjorie Todd.
Joe was born in Jackson County, TN and raised in Neelys Bend. He was a graduate of Litton High School where he played baseball. He also pitched for several Neelys Bend baseball teams. Joe served his country proudly in the Marines during the Korean War and as a reservist for several years. He spent his career in the plumbing, heating & air conditioning business and retired from Foster Engineering, Inc. He was a long time member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son Mike (Christy) Brown, daughter Jennifer Brown; grandsons Andrew (Miranda) Hawley, Zachary (Jessica) Hawley, Ryan (Sarah) Brown, Austin Brown; great grandchildren Wyatt and Ryland Hawley, Donovan Hawley and Caroline Brown; and brother Steve Brown.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service officiated by Reverend Rita Hays will take place on Thursday, August 18 at 12 PM noon at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside honors will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Builders Class of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church; Craig Hawley; Steve Brown; Sandra and Tom Kizer.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Connell Memorial United Methodist Church or the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
