Jon L. Welty, Age 69, of Hendersonville, TN, passed peacefully on 11/26/2015 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born 8/13/1946 in Kearney, Nebraska to Lee and Aldena Camp Welty. He is survived by Bobbie, his high school Read Obituary
We are so sad to receive the news today. Jon was a "One of a kind" very SPECIAL person. He made everyone feel better when he was around with his infectious humor, hunting stories and jokes.
Always admired his great love for Bobbie and his family. He will be greatly missed.

My husband and I moved to Hendersonville this March, and joined the choir after the beautiful Palm Sunday service. Jon was always encouraging and welcoming to us - and with lots of humor. I remember sitting in front of him in choir and he handed me a piece of torn paper and asked me to give it to Mary beside me. There was nothing on the paper. I just looked at him and said why? He said it's just what I do with her. So I handed it to Mary and said it was from Jon. She just rolled her eyes and looked at him and laughed. I know that Jon very much wanted to let people know they were noticed and valued. And he especially wanted to help them laugh. We miss him.
I came to know John briefly while attending law school with Phil and from the moment I met him I was drawn to his infectious humor, his strong faith and the palpable pride and admiration he had for his family. Growing up, I can't recall being exposed to men that had the fortitude of character John exuded. To me, he remains the consummate role model of the kind of friend, father and husband I aspire to be.
I have a very heavy heart after hearing about John's passing and I am keeping the entire Welty family my thoughts.
