Mr. Jon L. Welty's Obituary
Jon L. Welty, Age 69, of Hendersonville, TN, passed peacefully on 11/26/2015 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born 8/13/1946 in Kearney, Nebraska to Lee and Aldena Camp Welty. He is survived by Bobbie, his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, sons Phillip (Amanda) of Hendersonville and Mitchell (Amy) of Brentwood, grandchildren Megan, Michael and Jackson, and sisters, Rosalee Mickelsen, Jeanie Seaney, and Gay Correll. Grandpa Jon loved his church family at Hendersonville First United Methodist and his brothers in Hendersonville Evening Sertoma. He taught Sunday School, sat in the choir, voted Republican, perused old motorcycles, made everyone laugh and feel special, and cheered at all family activities. He was fair, right, and honest, happy in all weather, and a model husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Memorial Service Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM all at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville, 217 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Memorials may be made to Hendersonville First United Methodist Church or Hendersonville Evening Sertoma or a charity of your choice.
