Mr. Kevin Douglas Blackwell Sr.'s Obituary
Kevin Douglas Blackwell Sr. age 50, of Pleasant View, passed away at his home on Friday, February 20, 2015. He was born May 11, 1964 in Nashville to the late Melvin and Brenda Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell retired from Captain D’s Restaurant after 30 years of service as Area Director. He was a member of East High School Alumni Association, Valley View Baptist Church and Jerry Baxter Masonic Lodge. His family describes him as being an avid fisherman who loved sports off all kinds but especially Tennessee Volunteers (#VFL) and Braves Baseball.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Connie Searcy Blackwell; daughter Bethany (Eugene) Thomas; son, Kevin “Bubba” Blackwell, Jr.; grandsons Reaston and Reegan Thomas; brother, Kenneth (Janie) Blackwell; sister, Kimberly (Rick) Ghee; and his four legged babies, Deuce and Sassy.
Family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Minister Brandon Bentley officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bowman, David Carter, Centonyeo Martin, Roger Matthews, Bobby Volovnik, Glen Kemp, Wes Mitchell and Grant Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Cason, Thomas Sellers, Tommy Yates and Harold Bentley.
