Mrs. Linda Carol Satterfield's Obituary
Linda M. Satterfield was born in Nashville at Vanderbilt Hospital on November 2, 1956. She grew up in W. Nashville on Acklen Ave. with her brother, Larry, and her parents, Thomas and Francis McMahan.
She met her best lifelong friend, Debbie, there, who lived down the road from her. She graduated from Hume Fogg with the Class of 1974 and met another one of her best friends, Sheila, there. Her two main occupations were at Bittner’s Formalwear and at Dr. P.Z. Vora’s office. She was a manager of both.
Perhaps what she will be remembered most for was her life as a loving wife and mother of her two adopted children, Josh and Kyle. In 1980, she met Bill Satterfield Jr., the love of her life, and on August 2, 1985, Linda and Billy tied the knot to a happy and loving marriage that lasted 28 years until the day of her passing.
After some complications with trying to have kids, she adopted her first child, Kyle, and eventually eight years later her second, Josh, because she wanted Kyle to have a brother to accompany him through the joys and struggles of life. She was never one to put herself first despite all of the health issues she endured. Her children were always what she valued most and one could easily tell by the life she lived. Every decision she made was with her children in mind. She had so much love for her family and animals alike. If there was a stray animal it magically wound up in her house or garage.
Unfortunately, over the last five to ten years of her life, health complications began to take their toll. Even through these struggles she always had a way of making everything seem okay. These complications spoke a lot of her character. She was strong. She persevered. She never stopped loving. She did anything she could to make sure her family was taken care of. She was a hero, and she was a fighter. She’ll be sadly missed, but her soul lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, as well as in the gates of heaven above. She’ll watch over us as she did for so long when she was here, until the day we’re reunited in heaven.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, November 23rd from 11 AM-12 PM with a memorial service to be held at 12 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Arrangments Entrusted To: Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, Nashville (615)865-1101
