Madelaine S. Gaffney, age 74, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edith Kemper. She is survived by her daughter Samantha Streit (Thomas); two sisters, Melan Read Obituary
I offer my sincere sympathies to Madelaine's family. I knew her as Sue, we were in the Navy stationed at Washington, D.C. in the early 70's. I have some very fond and heartfelt memories of those days. Samantha, when you were just a little girl your mother came down to visit me in Mobile, Alabama. We took you to the Gulf Shores Park and you got to see the ocean for the first time. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, her favorite song. By the way, my name is Tony Ricchiuti.
I have missed my friend since she left Morningside at Belmont. We became close while she visited my store. God Bless you Madeleine.

Madelaine worked with my mother at the VAMC in Nashville for many years. She was a good friend to us in times of need even taking in our kitties and dog at one point when my mother was too ill to care for them.
When my mother was in rehab after hip revision surgery, Madelaine took me to see her each day and brought me home at night. She brought my mother Krispy Kreme doughnuts to eat and made sure I ate too. She also gave us a washer and dryer so that I wouldn’t have to go to the laundromat.
She took us to Springfield to pick up our then new kitten. She also took us to pick up our then new puppy after our Hurricane Katrina puppy passed away suddenly.
We will always remember her many kindnesses to our family and are blessed to have known her and been close friends for over 40 years.
