Dr. Malcolm "Mac" Wiseman's Obituary
Dr. Malcolm “Mac” Wiseman, age 93, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Antioch, Tennessee. Mac was born on May 23, 1925 in Crimoa, Virginia.
Mac did just about everything a person could do in the music business; worked as a disc jockey, promoter, record executive and recorded more than 65 albums. He was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, a founding member of the Country Music Association, a member of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, he was the last surviving member of the original Foggy Mountain Boys and he was a member of the Blue Grass Boys with Bill Monroe. He was an Artists and repertoire (A&R) for DOT Records. He can also be remembered for playing his music internationally and he recently received an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Fine Arts. His awards and honors are too numerous to list; however, he touched the hearts and lives of thousands of people and made an impact on them that will last forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Howard Wiseman, his daughter, Sheila Wiseman and a sister, Naomi.
Mac is survived by his companion and caregiver, Janie Boyd; children, Randy Wiseman, Linda Parr, Christine Haynes, Maxine Wiseman and Scott Wiseman; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia; brother, Kenny. He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 3 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 noon until 3 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
Serving as active Pallbearers will be Danny Haynes, Michael Armistead, Peter Cooper, Ronnie Reno, Dan Hays and Donnie Bryant.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mac's honor to the St Jude Children's Hospital and the March of Dimes.
