Mrs. Mitchell and Kathy - I am so sorry to hear of Martha’s passing. As the years have passed way too quickly, I often recall our McGavock Band day's.....and the partnership that Martha and I had as Captain and President in leading our band our senior year. Martha was such a special person. Through the years....when I think of brilliance and commitment...Martha would often come to mind. And as you already know.....Martha was one of the kindest people that God has ever put on this earth. I pray her memory brings you peace during this time.

On behalf of Martha's students and colleagues at MNPS Early College High School, we send our condolences. Our school community is grieving, but we know that Ms. Mitchell is smiling down at us - today and always. She will be missed more than words can describe.
Martha was a wonderful teacher, coach, confidante, nurturer, and baseball fan! She brought joy with her into everything she did. You will be missed.

I can't begin to describe how it feels to know my dear Martha, or "Marfta" as my kids called her, is gone. It leaves a hole in our hearts that is just impossible to fill. I'm so grateful for her friendship since I met her at Corinth church of Christ some 10 years ago. I loved sitting near her to harmonize during worship services, which is actually what began our friendship. We had countless "porch time" sessions that I will always treasure as well. My kids loved her, but that's no surprise as I'm pretty sure all kids of all ages loved her. I'll miss her so much, but what a blessing to know that her choice to follow Christ has brought her an eternal reward in Heaven and that we'll be able to sing together again someday.

Words will never be able to describe what a true friend I found in Martha. She was there to pick me up, make me laugh and start over many times. Her love and laughter will always surround us.
Thank you for allowing me to take care of her these last few days. I will forever miss my "Focker Sister"
I love you so much Martha!
