Ms. Martha Mitchell's Obituary
Martha Kathleen Mitchell, 55, died Monday, February 1, 2021, in Nashville, TN. She was born on July 28, 1965 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of Phil and Donna Mitchell, and was preceded in death by her father Phil.
She is survived by her mother, Donna, her two sisters, Kathryn Woodard and Helen Ratliff, her best friend, Cindy Catignani, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Martha was larger than life and loved the world. She impacted countless young people not only while teaching math, but also while showing them that they mattered. She will be remembered for her generous spirit.
Her heart belonged to baseball; she was a life-long fan of the Baltimore Orioles. If you needed to find her during the summer, she was most likely at a ballpark. Even there, she spread her joy and love of life with the people around her.
Pall bearers will be Tony Ratliff, Anthony Ratliff, Justin Ratliff, Jason Bussell, David Burr, Jonathan Rochelle, Craig Sherrill, and Jason Cook.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 4-8pm at the Donelson Church of Christ as well on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 12:30-1:30 at the church. A celebration of life service will be on Friday, February 4, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
