To Mike's wife and two sons, we spoke on the phone within the last year. He said he was enjoying retirement but was having a lot of back pain. Mike and I were teammates and friends at Tulane. Your husband and father was the type of man that makes this country the greatest in the world. He always did his part and more. On the football field he was asked to block out on defensive ends and linebackers and he was fierce. He was a business major and he was a good student ,never took the shorts cuts. In ROTC he was the same way. It is no surprise that he was awarded the bronze star in Vietnam Nam. I have the greatest respect for your father and my wife , Mary and I , offer our deepest sympathy. You and Mike are in our prayers. Herschel Richard
GREAT TEAMMATE AND THE BEST BLOCKER ON THE TEAM.
HE WAS A GENTLEMAN AND HE WILL BE MISSED.
DR TIM COUGHLIN - TULANE TEAM MATE 1964 T0 1968.
It is an honor to say a word or two about my friend and former teammate, Mike Findley.
Mike was a year or two ahead of me in school, so I got to watch him from a less active player perspective.
He played in the Southeastern Conference against some of the toughest teams and toughest defenses in football. He was small even then for a Division I fullback, but he played like a giant.
His courage was never an issue, and his intelligence on the field and in the classroom was instructive and inspirational.
My deepest sympathies to Mike’s wife Jo Evelyn and family. He was a good man, a fine athlete, and an always reliable and devoted competitor.
